Lauren Foster and Ron Rimkus, CFA, discuss the leading takeaways thus far from the 68th CFA Institute Annual Conference. Rimkus highlighted how many of the presentations, among them Jürgen Stark’s “The Limits of Central Banking and the Prospects for Economic Reform in Europe<," emphasized the nuanced interplay between politics and economics. Looking ahead, Rimkus was especially interested in Wall Street whistleblower Haim Bodek's upcoming talk on high-frequency trading (HFT), "Financial Innovation, Market Structure, and the Implications for Investors."
