Helen Brand

Helen Brand is chief executive of ACCA, the global body for professional accountants. She has built her career within professional bodies and has considerable experience in and knowledge of the 179 markets in which ACCA currently operates. Ms. Brand is a founding member of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) and is vice chair of the IIRC board. She is also a member of the University of Exeter Business School International Advisory Board and the Deakin University Business School International Advisory Board. One of the few women to lead a global professional body, Ms. Brand is a regular media commentator on the roles ethics and the delivery of public value play in business and society. She is a strong advocate for the power of wider corporate reporting and has driven ACCA’s pioneering work in support of the development of the profession across Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Ms. Brand was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for services to accountancy and received an honorary doctorate from the University of Exeter. She earned a BA in politics from the University of Exeter.
