Mohamed A. El-Erian

Mohamed A. El-Erian is the chief economic advisor at Allianz, the corporate parent of PIMCO, where he served as CEO and co-CIO (2007-2014). He is also a columnist for Bloomberg View, a contributing editor at the Financial Times, an Under Armour board member, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Previously. In addition, he has served as chair of President Obama’s Global Development Council, as president and CEO of Harvard Management Company, and as an international civil servant at the IMF. Dr. El-Erian’s bestselling book When Markets Collide was named the Financial Times/Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year, a book of the year by the Economist, and one of the best business books of all time by the Independent (UK). His book The Only Game in Town: Central Banks, Instability, and Avoiding the Next Collapse was also a bestseller. Dr. El-Erian is an honorary fellow of Queens’ College, Cambridge University. He received his undergraduate degree in economics from Cambridge University and holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in economics from the University of Oxford.
