Steven Eisman is a managing director at Neuberger Berman and a portfolio manager for the Eisman Group, within Neuberger Berman’s Private Asset Management division. Previously, he was the founder and portfolio manager of Emrys Partners, L.P., and a partner and the senior portfolio manager of the FrontPoint Financial Services Fund and the FrontPoint Financial Horizons Fund. Mr. Eisman has also served as a managing director and senior financial services analyst at Chilton Investment Co. He held the same role at Oppenheimer & Co. within the Investment Bank, Asset Management, and Specialty Finance divisions, during which time he was ranked as an All-America Research Team analyst by Institutional Investor and an All-Star Analyst by the Wall Street Journal on multiple occasions. Part of his career is chronicled in Michael Lewis’s The Big Short, as well as the movie by the same name, which features Steve Carell portraying Mr. Eisman as the outspoken hedge fund manager who, along with three other men, predicted the housing crash of 2008. He has over 20 years of investing experience, with the last 10+ years as a portfolio manager. Mr. Eisman has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Harvard Law School.
