Xiaowei Rose Luo
Xiaowei Rose Luo is a tenured senior faculty member in the area of entrepreneurship and family business at INSEAD, the holder of the Rudolf and Valeria Maag Professorship in Entrepreneurship, and academic director of the Tsinghua-INSEAD dual-degree EMBA program. She has also served as academic director for open enrollment and customer-specific programs at INSEAD, visiting professor at CKGSB—where she was academic director of the Doctor of Business Administration program—and a tenured faculty member at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Professor Luo has published numerous research studies in academic journals and won the Best Paper Award at the Strategic Management Society Hong Kong Conference. She is on the editorial board of several academic journals and is the senior editor of the Management and Organization Review. Professor Luo has consulted for McKinsey & Company, the World Economic Forum, Walmart, and Sinopec, among others, and is a judge for the Cartier Award for Women Entrepreneurs. She received a BA in linguistics and English and American literature from Fudan University, where she also studied in the graduate program in world economy. Professor Luo has a PhD in sociology with a focus on organizational studies from Stanford University.
